Compliance Surveys

Probably the largest share of most CRM architectural historians’ work is usually
compliance-related, most frequently under Section 106 and Section 110 of the
National Historic Preservation Act. A few projects illustrate the breadth of my
experience.

Monticello Hills Wind Project. Historic survey of a five-mile radius of a proposed wind turbine project in central New York. The surrounding area was historically used for dairy farming and many farms remain.

Jersey City Armory

New Jersey Armory Survey. I conducted intensive-level survey of most of the older armory buildings in the state of New Jersey to aid the  New Jersey National Guard in
facility planning.

Historic Engineering Evaluations of the Monongahela and Ohio River Navigation Systems. An intensive survey and context development for slackwater navigation improvements and technology.

Historic Building Surveys of Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Over a period of several years, I surveyed over 600 buildings at this major
training facility in central New Jersey.
