Although increasing amounts of information are now available on the Web, it remains necessary for the research to cross the threshold of many an archive, search for documents, hold them, and record the information that is contained in them. However, if you are in Washington State and the documents are in Washington, D.C., the cost to do the research can be prohibitive.
West Jersey Historical Research can help you. We have conducted research at most of the major archival collections in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic states and are familiar with their procedures and their holdings. Among the collections in which we have done substantial research are: the Library of Congress, the National Archives (downtown Washington and College Park, as well as numerous regional archives), the New York, New Jersey, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Pennsylvania State Archives, all the state historic preservation offices in the region, the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, the Central Research Library of the New York Public Library, many county and local recorders of deeds in the region, and state historical societies in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maryland.
